Let’s DoCamp!

Is S.I.P. for you?

The Summer Intern Program (S.I.P.) is designed for young people between the ages of 16 and 18. If you love camp, wish you could be at camp longer, and/or dream about working at camp one day, then this program is for you!

S.I.P. Your Way to Paid Staff

The SIP builds camp experience, camp skills, and camp wisdom. SIP alumni have a huge advantage when they reach 18 and apply for a paid staff position. Did you know that the paid staff starting salary for 2024 is over $4,000, plus housing, food, training, and a life changing experience within an amazing community? Serving at camp during the summer is an awesome way to work your way through college! And SIP experience is a great step toward it!

Two Phases of S.I.P.

SIP Phase #1: Training

Interns training week (TBD) it is intense! The training covers lots of topics like how to safely lead a group of campers and what to do when a storm comes. We also learn a ton of skills like how to lead games, teach canoeing, and how to lead laser tag. Training also includes a bunch of time for just having fun with the staff and other interns.

SIP Phase #2: Serving

After training, interns serve alongside the staff as we lead summer camp. We ask interns to serve a minimum of 1-week with a maximum of 7-weeks. Interns choose to serve in one of 4-areas: Jr. Counselor, Support Staff, Maintenance, or Kitchen.

During the week(s) of service, the interns will stay in staff housing under adult supervision. Also during the week(s) of service, Interns stay at camp Monday through Friday. Pick up time for interns on Friday is 5:00pm. Interns are allowed to drive their own vehicle to/from camp with written permission from a parent.

S.I.P. Service

Jr. Counselor

Interns serve right next to counselors as they lead their day camp family group. Interns get first hand experience with supervising campers as they explore the adventures of camp.

Support Staff

Interns serve alongside our jack-of-all-trades support staff. Support staff lead activities and help the whole camp with tons of behind the scenes tasks.

Kitchen

Interns serve with the kitchen staff as they serve hundreds of meals each week. Interns help with dishes, food prep, cleaning the dining hall, and much more.

Maintenance

Interns serve in a wide variety of maintenance tasks like keeping the camp looking great, fixing things around camp, and much more.

How to Sign Up

To reserve your spot, sign up for the training week (date TBD). The fee collected for the training also covers the costs of room and board during the week(s) of service.
