Why do you even have a camp store?

The camp store isn’t just hyping campers on sugar or filling their backpacks with trinkets—it’s about Ebenezers. In the Bible, an “Ebenezer” was a stone set up to remind Israel of God’s faithfulness. Similarly, our camp store offers campers a chance to take home a keepsake that marks their spiritual milestones: lessons God taught them, fun memories, or even conquering fears on the waterslide. These items serve as tangible reminders of God’s work and the joy of making choices, a great part of coming to camp!

What can you buy?

We have new products in the camp store each year, so the options are ever changing. Souvenirs like stuffed animals, hats and water bottles.

We also sell snacks! There’s nothing like a cold pop and ice cream on a hot summer day, so we offer drinks, ice cream products, and candy. Some parents send snacks for their campers each day-which is also great! You’ll just need to remind your camper to grab those snacks into their backpacks when it’s time to pull those out.

I don’t want my camper buying [fill in the blank]! How can I stop them from doing that?

Before your camper heads off to camp, take a moment to chat about camp store spending expectations. We can’t stop them from snagging chocolate bars (tempting, we know!), so it’s good to let them know what’s okay to buy. To help keep spending in check, consider starting their account with a smaller amount and topping it up as needed through the website. That way, they can shop smart and stay on budget!

How much money should I put in my camper’s account?

We use camper accounts instead of cash, so there’s no need for your camper to worry about losing money during the week. (Translation: no cash, please!) How much you add to their account is totally up to you—most campers start with $15–$30, but it’s all about what works for your family. Shocked by that number? Start smaller! Think they’ll need more? Go for it! You can always add funds later in the week if needed. Keep it simple and do what feels right for you.

What if my camper does not use all their money?

Any leftover funds in your camper’s store account will go to the Aunt Dot Camper Scholarship Fund—a program that helps make camp possible for families who might not otherwise afford it. So whether your camper spends every penny or leaves a little behind, it’s all going toward something awesome: giving more kids a chance to experience the life-changing joy of camp!
