Excellent get-away for adult retreats

The Acorn Lodge did not start as one of the original camp facilities but as an executive hunting lodge for a large corporation from Chicago. Homer Dickson helped in the construction in 1958 and was led to purchase it for a Christian retreat center in 1970. It started its faith-based work as a center for the Yokefellow organization out of Indiana and served as the sight for many conferences for pastors and people in ministry. That heart to serve and support pastors is carried on today in the work of Lifting Arms Ministries (formerly Acorn Ministries). Today the lodge continues to serve pastors and church leadership teams as a retreat space and also youth groups needing a more remote site.
